Most often nest on the buttocks and thighs but sometimes on the arms or stomach, cellulite is a woman's enemy, especially as it's so resistant to most treatments. Below are some explanations and solutions.
Cellulite - a female experience
Characterized by an orange peel appearance visible to the naked eye, cellulite is not a disease embarrassing. It is related to hormones, especially when concerning women.
It is a superficial layer of fat located under the skin. The fat cells (adipocytes) under the skin increase in volume, caused by added water retention (poor blood circulation and lymphatic), and fibrosis (collagen fibres change). Thus, as the predominant phenomenon, there are 3 types of cellulite: adipose (excess fat storage dominates), fibrous (collagen dysfunction dominates), and that with water retention (poor circulation dominates).
The causes of its appearance
Cellulite is the result of a combination of several factors:
- Genetics. Some people have an imbalance between lipolysis (fat burning) and lipogenesis (fat storage).
- Hormonal. It is the balance between estrogen and progesterone, which determines the distribution of body fat: each episode of life's hormonal changes (puberty, pregnancy, taking birth control ...) causes variations.
- Circulatory system. Poor blood circulation and lymphatic, the higher the risk of developing cellulite.
- Food. The amount of food ingested, but also its quality influences the storage of fat in the body.
- Muscle. Muscle tone is to control the action of body fat.
Solutions
There is no miracle cure, but several treatments which, if targeted by the type of cellulite, handsets, followed in short and long associated with good health habits (low fat diet, regular physical activity ...) are producing results. The key:
- The mechanical treatments. The endermologie or Cellu M6, is a rolling massage performed by a machine. This is to enter a fold of skin and to impart a particular wave in order to boost cellular exchanges, accelerate the elimination of waste and put the fat into circulation. Pressure therapy is a lymphatic drainage performed by a specific machine forced air which inflates gradually from bottom to top, a pair of boots covering the lower legs to the thighs.
- The medical and surgical treatments. Mesotherapy involves injecting subcutaneously products that act on cellulite. Performed under anaesthesia, liposuction is to suck up excess fat under the skin.
- Electrotherapy and ultrasonolipolyse. The methods is currently in development using electrical currents, ultrasound or infrared radiation, applied through electrodes placed on the areas to treat or through devices applied to the skin. They are assumed to have the effect of increasing the temperature of the target tissue, increase cellular permeability of the adipocytes and tissue partitioning defibrosis present in the hypodermis.
- Creams. Combining active draining fight against water retention and tissue relief, fat burners (caffeine) and straightening, they reduce the number and volume of fat cells and improve skin appearance.
- Hydrotherapy. The lymphatic aquadrainage is a gym specifically exercised in the water. Its objective is to strengthen the postural muscles whose action on the venous return is 4 times that of the superficial muscles. Hydromassage baths and showers are, following the paths muscle, stimulate venous and lymphatic return.
- Dietary supplements. Some assets are indicated for the treatment of cellulite: the suckers, to hunt for waste and decongest the tissue, and burners, designed to enable the evacuation and burning of fat.
